Mark Rober and MrBeast are teaming up for massive $40M Charity Campaign

YouTuber and former NASA engineer Mark Rober has revealed an upcoming major philanthropic campaign with fellow YouTube star Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson

On Dexerto’s Clickbaited show, Rober, known for his inventive science videos and viral engineering stunts, recalled his first collaboration with MrBeast dating back to 2019 when both creators had around three million subscribers.

“That’s when we became friends,” Rober said. “We just kind of kept in touch since then, which is kind of wild that his channel’s become so big… but I haven’t fallen off either.”

The two have since teamed up on successful campaigns like Team Trees and Team Seas, which raised $20 million and $30 million, respectively. Now, Rober revealed a third initiative is set to launch this summer, with even more ambitious goals.

“We’re doing a third one this summer that’s more geared towards helping people in real need,” Rober said. “We’re going to look to raise $40 million.”

For now though, they’re keeping specific details about the initiative under wraps.

When asked about the backlash MrBeast has sometimes faced despite his charitable efforts, Rober said, “It’s just a tax to be paid,” he said. “There’s literally no one in the world who is famous who doesn’t get people coming at them for something… you just get thick skin.”

Rober also shared his enthusiasm for collaborations, expressing admiration for creators like Jack Black, whom he’s worked with in the past. “Every time I do a collab, it’s always such a good experience.”
