MARIAH Carey has responded to a rampant fan theory that her new Spotify video message is fake.
The All I Want For Christmas Is You crooner, 55, has been accused of using AI for her Spotify Wrapped ‘thank you’ message.

“Hey, it’s Mariah,” she can be heard saying while sitting by a fire in her classic Santa-themed onesie.
She added, “Thank you so much for listening to my music on Spotify. Your support through the years is the greatest gift I could ask for.
“This year, we’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of my album, Merry Christmas, I hope you enjoy listening to it, and I can’t wait to share new music with you soon.”
She then signed off by blowing a kiss and wishing her listeners “Happy Holidays”.

But fans weren’t convinced that Mariah had actually delivered the message, with many believing that AI (artificial intelligence) had been used.
“Why does it feel like an AI made video?” asked one person underneath a post which shared Mariah’s Spotify Wrapped ‘thank you’ message.
“It looks like AI omg,” echoed another, while a third said, “No f**king way you people actually think that’s not ai.”
Fans of Mariah were quick to defend the star, with one person urging, “It’s not AI she’s just reading something behind the camera which gives uncanny vibes (you can see it in the eye movements).”
“It must be hard being so gorgeous that nobody believes you’re real,” penned a second.

A third then said, “This is not f**king AI. She literally shot this after doing a whole photo shoot and probably filmed other promo slots while in costume.”
While a fourth added, “It’s not ai it’s real can’t wait to share the music I love to Mariah.”
And now Mariah has broken her silence on the rampant fan theories that claim AI was used in the making of her video message.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Mariah said that “bad lighting” caused the video to look a little off, which might have in turn sparked speculation around AI claims.

Mariah’s fans then responded to her message addressing the AI claims, with one writing, “AI could NEVER be this perfect, QUEEN!!!”
Another said, “SET THEM STRAIGHT, QUEEN WE LOVE YOU!”
“I got your message on @Spotify and I knew it was you and loved the out of character red lipstick but knew it was for a festive occasion. Loved it and appreciate you and all you do for the lambily,” added a third.
