Having not made a film since 2018’s First Man, acclaimed director Damien Chazelle is set to return later this year with arguably his biggest film yet, Babylon.
Starring massive Hollywood heavyweights such as Robbie and Pitt, Babylon is set in the Jazz Age of the 1920s during Hollywood’s transition from silent films to sound films.
On Tuesday morning, the first trailer for Babylon — which will hit theaters in the United States on Christmas Day — was released.
The wild first trailer for Damien Chazelle’s new movie Babylon features a completely unhinged Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt
The film certainly looks like it’ll position both Robbie (Best Actress) and Pitt (Best Supporting Actor) to compete for Academy Awards next year. If you’ll recall, J.K. Simmons won Best Supporting Actor for his work in Chazelle’s Whiplash, while Emma Stone won Best Actress for her performance in La La Land.
In addition to Robbie and Pitt, Babylon boasts an ensemble cast that features the likes of Diego Calva, Tobey Maguire, Samara Weaving, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, Spike Jonze, Max Minghella, Olivia Wilde, Lukas Haas, and Jean Smart.
Babylon is Chazelle’s fourth feature film following Whiplash (2014), La La Land (2016), and First Man (2018).
