Maren Morris has kicked off her next chapter with the release of an empowering new song, “carry me through.” Stream it below.
Earlier this week, the country-pop singer-songwriter announced a new album, titled D R E A M S I C L E, set for release on May 9th. “carry me through” is the first official single from the project, and the soulful, gospel-laden track digs into the process of moving forward through challenging seasons of life.
“This was written in early 2023 before a lot of things went down,” Morris revealed in a statement. “I really do think sometimes songs are premonitions. I wanted to address some anxieties I was having but also give myself some peace by saying, ‘It’s not all on you right now. lean on safe people.’”

Tonight (March 27th), Morris will appear at the 2025 GLAAD Awards, and she’s marked the occasion by collaborating with the organization and TransLifeLine on a t-shirt. For the next 72 hours, all proceeds from the shirt will be directed toward supporting the transgender community against the rising tide of anti-trans legislation, executive orders, and censorship.
Starting in July, the artist has a handful of festival and standalone performances scheduled, including appearances at Festival d’eté de Quebec and Florida’s Sing Out Loud. Grab tickets here.
