A man who stumbled upon an overgrown staircase while exploring a forest was left terrified by what he found when he followed the steps underground.
After seeing what he found at the bottom of the staircase, the man named Josh said he believed he was “not meant to find this place.”
Josh shared his frightening discovery on TikTok and the creepy video has since gone viral with almost 19 million views as of this writing.
“While hiking through a forest I came across this overgrown entrance that led underground,” he stated on the TikTok video. “Heading inside to explore it I found myself in a maze of long tunnels and secret rooms. This is definitely one of the creepiest abandoned places I have explored!”
At the bottom of the concrete steps, Josh discovered a dark tunnel that led to a corridor filled with steel doors and a second staircase that went further underground.
“Heading down to the bottom I was then met with an even longer tunnel that eventually led me to this massive metal door,” Josh continued. “But passing through it I was about to find something else quite creepy.”
As he passes through the tunnel it becomes flooded with water. He then pans his camera to the walls where footprint marks can be seen.
The tunnel eventually branches out into several different rooms, including one with a small green door.
“Continuing deeper I finally found something I recognized,” Josh then explained. “These were definitely toilets.”
At the end of the tunnel, Josh found a collection of small rooms. In one of them it appeared as the though the door appeared to have been “blown off,” but the room had nothing inside it but a bookcase.
After finally exiting the tunnel via yet another staircase, Josh said, “I still have no idea what this could have been, but whatever it was, they wanted to keep it a secret.”

Of course, there was no shortage of speculation and reactions to what he he seen in the almost 19,000 comments that followed.
“I would constantly think that someone will lock one of these doors behind me lol,” one viewer wrote.
“I don’t trust abandoned placed without graffiti,” someone else commented.
“Be glad you didn’t find some type of SCP [Secure, Contain, Protect] in there. This really looks like a secret hidden testing and experimental facility,” wrote another viewer.
