Machine Head have announced their 11th studio album, UNATØNED, arriving April 25th via Nuclear Blast Records. The single “UNBØUND” is out now.
The LP is set to arrive amidst Machine Head’s previously announced North American tour with In Flames, Lacuna Coil, and Unearth. Those dates kick off April 5th in Oakland and run through mid-May (get tickets here).
“UNBØUND” is the second single from the new album — following the star-studded tourmate collaboration “THESE SCARS WØN’T DEFINE US” — and boasts a dramatic and impassioned performance from frontman Robb Flynn. With the battle-cry vocals and slam-ready riffs, this one will surely incite some physical audience participation during the upcoming gigs.
Written on the road, during Machine Head’s return to the festival circuit after an 11-year hiatus, UNATØNED was recorded between July 2023 and December 2024 at Robb’s Jam Room, Sharkbite Studios, and Drop of Sun Recording.
The album was produced by Flynn alongside engineer Zack Ohren, with mixing/mastering by Colin Richardson and Chris Clancy at Audioworks UK and mastering of the full record by Ted Jensen and his assistant Justin Shturtz (sans one track, “LANDSCAPE ØF THØRNS,” produced by Flynn and Joel Wanasek with mixing by Zack Ohren).
Machine Head’s lineup on the LP includes Flynn, bassist/backing vocalist Jared MacEachern, guitarist Reece Scruggs, and drummer Matt Alston.
