Lovi Poe is back in the gym and looking fit in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the Filipino actress takes a mirror selfie, looking gorgeous in her exercise attire. “Had a little time off from training and can’t wait to get back at it. 💪🏾” she captioned the post. “You are very very and very beautiful,” commented a follower. “Legs all day,” added another. How does the 35-year-old approach health and wellness? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
How does Lovi fit exercise into her busy life? “Oh, I make time,” she told Philstar Life. She wakes up at 4:00 in the morning and hops on the treadmill. She says that she spends her “me time” by 4:30 a.m.
Lovi explained that she has a “workout regimen” that works for her, which involves strength training. “I think I just enjoy everything because I work out with a good trainer as well who makes me laugh while I lift heavy weights at the same time,” she said. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:
- Develop strong bones
- Manage your weight
- Enhance your quality of life
- Manage chronic conditions
- Sharpen your thinking skills
Lovi loves running, on the treadmill and also outside. “When I travel and I visit a new place, a new city, that’s the first thing I do in the morning—I run around and explore it,” she said. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.
She also loves Pilates, she told the publication. “Do you slide on all your nights like this?” she captioned a post of herself doing Pilates. According to the Mayo Clinic there are lots of benefits to the workout, as it “strengthens the body’s inner core while increasing its flexibility resulting in improved overall health.” It can also promote longer, leaner muscles, injury prevention, relief from stress and back pain, enhanced athletic performance, and heightened mind-body awareness.
Lovi told Pep.ph that she follows the 80-20 diet rule. “Eighty percent of the time, I’m healthy-eating, twenty percent of the time, I’m eating what I want,” she said. “I don’t believe in starving yourself and stopping yourself eating certain kinds of food. It’s nice to indulge yourself every once in a while.”
