LOVE & Marriage: Huntsville star KeKe Jabbar was found dead by her husband Ameen in her car.
The 42-year-old died from carbon monoxide poisoning after falling asleep in the garage at her Alabama home, her friend has claimed.
YouTuber JoAnn Jenkins insisted KeKe did not die by suicide, during a YouTube livestream on Wednesday night.
“Keke did not overdose, Keke did not take her own life. Keke loved life. Keke was not ready to leave life,” she said.
“She wasn’t ready to leave her children, her husband, or her family.”
JoAnn claimed the reality star would often get tired and “go to sleep wherever.”
She said KeKe decided to take a nap after experiencing an issue with her car.
“So, seven-something this morning, her husband goes to the garage,” JoAnn said.
“He sees Keke, who he thinks is asleep in the car. He tries to get her attention. He opens [the car] up. She isn’t breathing.
“Her husband, her life partner, her best friend tried to bring his wife back, the mother of his children, and he couldn’t.”
“Keke passed from carbon monoxide poisoning. That’s it. That is all,” the vlogger concluded.
KeKe had three children with security specialist Ameen – sons Amraee and Ace, and a daughter named Aubree.
KeKe’s death was announced by blogger Marcella Speaks in a YouTube livestream on Tuesday.
Marcella said the TV personality died “peacefully at home surrounded in love.”
“She was a mom, a sister, a great friend, full of life, love, and laughter. She will sorely be missed,” she added.
“We are asking for RESPECT, and PRIVACY in our moment of grief, while we process this great loss!” KeKe’s cousin and Love & Marriage: Huntsville costar LaTisha Moore Scott added on Instagram.
“This is hard for our family!!!!!”
KeKe on Love & Marriage: Huntsville
KEKE Jabbar appeared on the OWN reality show Love & Marriage: Huntsville in 2023.
The unscripted show centers around the lives of three highly successful African-American couples.
The main stars are Melody Rodgers, her ex-husband Martell Holt, Maurice and Kimmi Scott, Marsau and LaTisha “Tisha” Scott, as well as beauty mogul Stormi Steele and her husband Courtney.
The couples collaborate to revitalize the city of Huntsville in Alabama through their joint real estate venture: The Comeback Group.
KeKe was filmed arguing with her cousin and costar LaTisha Moore Scott on the show.
She faced drug accusations on the show’s most recent season and was confronted by a producer, Deadline reported.
“I’ve never taken any kind of hard drug,” KeKe said on the show’s reunion after clashing with Carlos King.
“I’ve never taken anything, heroin, cocaine, crack. I’ve never taken anything like that.”
KeKe had been silent on Instagram in the months leading up to her death.
Her final post was a video with her son Ace during a pool party during the Memorial Day weekend.
“This is my baby boy Ace! Say, ‘Hey,'” KeKe said while panning to Ace playing in the water with his goggles on.
Elsewhere in the video, she revealed she was launching a line of swim wigs for Black women.
The mother of three was wearing one of her own designs and dunked her head under the water before coming back to show off the wig.
She was also asked by a fan how she was doing during the livestream.
KeKe said she was “really good” but admitted that launching the new venture was “overwhelming” and “too hard” at times.
