‘Love Is Blind’ Star Iyanna McNeely Begs Fans To ‘Leave Me Alone’

Iyanna McNeely from Love Is Blind season 2

“Love Is Blind” star Iyanna McNeely married Jarrette Jones in season 2 of “Love Is Blind.”

Unfortunately, last week, the couple announced that they were filing for divorce. A few days later, the other couple who married in season 2 – Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson – also filed for divorce. A few days after that, Netflix announced that they were going to release the “After The Altar” special in a few weeks, which struck fans as suspicious timing, given the only couples that ended up together now split.

Things are looking particularly rough for Iyanna and Jarette in the first look of them in the trailer, which has prompted a lot of speculation online. It seems Iyanna just wants to put the whole show behind her and start over with a clean slate, given what she wrote on her Instagram Stories.

Iyanna shared the video of the trailer to her Instagram Stories, adding the comment, “Ready for this. Just so y’all can leave me alone. Let’s get it over with already and close this LIB chapter!”

However, that didn’t sit right with a lot of fans online. One fan started a Reddit thread specifically to call out Iyanna on this very post.

“Anyone else a little annoyed at the season 2 cast for going on a reality show and then basically telling fans to respect their privacy when asking questions?” the fan asked. “I just saw Iyanna’s IG story that basically said she can’t wait for After the Altar so people can leave her alone, get over with it already and close this LIB chapter.”

“I understand not wanting hateful and unnecessary comments but I think it’s pretty irrational to go on reality tv and then when things don’t go right, you shun fans who fell in love with you via reality tv,” they added.

Fans Debate How Much ‘Privacy’ People Are Entitled To When They Sign Up For A Reality Show

“A lack of privacy is the cost of the 15 mins of reality tv fame,” one fan commented. “People should know this when they sign up.”

“I think it’s completely rational for us to want to know how the story turns out OP. Just like people tune in for season after season for scripted tv, we just wanna know how it ends,” another user replied. “ALSO, asking for privacy after you appear on reality tv is crazy to me lol I’m not into following people or harassing them but clearly people on these subs / other reality tv subs are hate watching or overly invested but at this point it’s to be expected? Like it’s just an occupational hazard to have strangers all in your business. Also it’s safe to say that a small piece of you wanted the clout associated with being on TV cuz that’s why you’re on… TV??”

“OP. I’m a pretty empathetic person, but I agree with you,” another user commented. “When you choose to make your relationship so public, the ending will be equally so. Every action has a consequence. Decide to go on a HUGE reality marriage show? Well, be prepared for the fall out.”

However, some fans had nothing but sympathy for Iyanna and what she was going through.

“Listen, Iyanna has always annoyed me but we gotta show this poor girl some grace; I think she’s allowed to be as protective of herself as she seems necessary. Her humanity still matters and she’s probably heartbroken and humiliated,” another fan commented. “Everyone has limits on their emotional bandwidth, reality star or not and it wouldn’t surprise me if she was at her breaking point. No one owes anyone anything if it harms their mental health. What is irrational is thinking that she does. Let her be, her dreams with her husband just died. Let her grieve and move on.”

Another user also felt that Iyanna is entitled to her privacy, commenting, “They signed onto a reality show, not signed in to have their entire life be public for all of eternity. What you see ON the reality show is the entire extent of what anybody is owed or even really should get. Reality shows are half fake anyways. Actors deserve their privacy too.”
