Lorna Shore’s new album ‘Pain Remains’ is out now, and they have brought the visuals attached to their ambitious trilogy of title tracks to a stunning close.
The time is here. Lorna Shore’s astonishingly brilliant new album ‘Pain Remains’ is out now via Century Media.
A callous, haunting, beautiful, desolating collection of modern deathcore epics, it is an instant classic that will take the band to a completely new level than they are already at in the coming months.
And with the release comes the finale of their ‘Pain Remains’ trilogy, a set of three tracks telling an emotional and intense story.
So, let’s make our way through all three, shall we?
Here is ‘I: Dancing Like Flames’, a surefire way to trigger tears falling down your face.
Here is what the band had to say about it:
“The first song, ‘Dancing like Flames’, begins with the main character becoming enamored by the person within his dreams. He decides to turn to this reality as a sense of purpose despite knowing that the closer he gets to his goal, the further it seems to drift away.”
Then there is ‘II: After All I’ve Done, I’ll Disappear’, which features one of the most satisfying key changes in deathcore history.
The band comment:
“This leads to the second song, ‘After All I’ve Done, I’ll Disappear’. This is the part where the person vanishes, and the main character struggles to accept the pain. He as well wishes to disappear and seeks to throw it all away.”
And now, the newly-released finale, ‘III: In A Sea Of Fire’, which sees things out in the most dramatically gruelling and gorgeous way that the band could.
They conclude:
“Finally, the trilogy ends with the last song, ‘In a Sea of Fire’, which focuses with not just acceptance but also anger. Anger at not just himself, but the world around him. The song ends with the main character choosing to wake up by igniting the world. As the fires grow, he s absolved in a sea of fire so that he too may finally disappear.”
What an experience. What a band.
