To add excitement to the announcement of her debut album, LØLØ has shared a brand-new single ‘U & The Tin Man’, which arrives with a memorable video.
The singer’s upcoming debut LP ‘Falling For Robots And Wishing I Was One’ is set to arrive June 07 via Hopeless Records.
The Canadian singer-songwriter (real name, Lauren Mandel), spoke all about the making of the record, as the latest cover star for our ‘The Album Story’ feature.
Discussing her lyricism, and her general approach to songwriting, she explained:
“I try to say things that I would actually say in real life. I try to think of something unique.
“I hate when a song is just boring. I really like the specifics, so I tried to dive deep into the details.”
That couldn’t be much more apt for her latest release, ‘U & The Tin Man’ – a track which she started writing in her notes app on her phone after hearing someone refer to her ex as “the fucking tin man” at a dinner.
Have a listen to the new single via its ‘Wizard Of Oz’-inspired video below, directed by Justin Alexis of ThatGoodGraphic.
Speaking further about the new track now it’s out, LØLØ has added:
“When I moved to LA, I realised I was definitely not in Kansas anymore. I eventually met someone who hit me like a tornado, and left just as viciously.
“The Wizard of Oz has always been my favourite movie growing up, so I thought it would be fun to compare my situation to someone who really didn’t have a heart, like the tin man.
“Except, at least the tin man was trying! This is one of the first songs in a while that I wrote completely by myself, so it feels very special.
“This is also the first song I ever wrote for my debut album and I’m VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT!!”
