Liam Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, is shedding new light on their last moments together.

The late One Director singer was found dead in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October, just days after Cassidy and Payne spent time together for the last time.

Cassidy revealed the details of their last conversations in a new interview on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose,” released on Wednesday.

“I remember sitting there with him and I was going on and on and on and saying to Liam how much I love him,” she shared of her time in Argentina with Payne. “He laughed and he interrupted me and he just said, ‘Kate, like, you’re gonna miss your flight. Your car is in the driveway. You’re acting like this is the last time you’re ever going to see me again.’”

“I just laughed back. I was just like, ‘I know. I’m being silly! I need to get in the car, I can’t miss my flight,’” she said, adding that “to even look back in time and just know that really was the last time I was able to see him again is just so chilling.”

“But, in a way, I think that the way that we said goodbye to each other, I’m so blessed, and this is where I get that peace from it,” she said, explaining that she “wouldn’t have wanted it to be” any different.

“I’m so glad that we had that last beautiful moment together,” Cassidy added.

Cassidy said last month that she still finds it “really hard to accept” Payne’s untimely death.

“I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense,” she shared on the British morning show “Lorraine.” “I don’t even feel the need to correct myself because that’s part of my healing journey. I’m still working on accepting the fact that he’s not here anymore, so it’s hard for me to refer to him in the past tense.”

Payne died after a fall from his hotel’s third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires.

A toxicology report later concluded that the 31-year-old had multiple substances in his system at the time of his death, including cocaine, crack cocaine and benzodiazepines.

The report also indicated the presence of “pink cocaine,” which refers to a cocktail of drugs that can include substances like ketamine, MDMA, methamphetamine, and sometimes caffeine or opioids.

Payne leaves behind an 8-year-old son, named Bear, whom he shared with his ex-partner, singer Cheryl Cole.
