A federal judge may have blocked the $25 billion Kroger-Albertsons merger after the F.T.C. filed an antitrust lawsuit, but Kroger is still opening new stores across the country. “After reviewing options, the company determined it is no longer in its best interests to pursue the merger,” Kroger said in a release. Kroger’s chief executive Rodney McMullen previously said if the merger were to be blocked, “We’ll continue to go on… I don’t know that we would be out there trying to find what’s the next Albertsons. We’ve always made sure that we don’t need to do mergers to make our business successful.” Here’s where the new Krogers will be opening across the country.
