KIM Kardashian has revealed that she regrets allowing her daughter North West to wear makeup at a young age.
In 2018, Kim, 43, took her family – including a five-year-old North – to the Kardashian’s Christmas party.
At the event, North was seen wearing a black outfit paired with bright red lipstick that made her appear much older.
While promoting her new SKKN makeup line to Bustle, Kim admitted that she shouldn’t have let North wear makeup.
She also said that her youngest daughter Chicago, six, hasn’t been allowed to wear makeup.
The Skims founder said: “My littlest one’s too little and I don’t let her.
“I look back and there are times when I remember I let [North] wear a red lip once for Christmas.”
“Would I do that now? Probably not,” she continued.
However, directly after the Christmas party, Kim defended her choice to let the child wear lipstick.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, she wrote: “She picked it though! It’s a special occasion!”
NORTH’S NEW MAKEUP
North, now ten years old, has been promoting her mother’s new makeup line by creating tutorials for social media.
On Friday, North took to her and Kim’s shared TikTok account to give her fans a makeup review.
The video began with the preteen, who was wearing a T-shirt and a hair bonnet, holding up a handful of her mom’s makeup.
She said she planned on giving the brand an “Honest makeup review.”
She showcased matte lipsticks and lipliners before revealing the pamphlet that comes with the makeup.
North then pulled out the brand’s makeup palette and applied a ton of black eyeshadow.
Later, The Kardashians star was shown finishing the look by adding lipliner and lipstick while also smearing her eyeshadow.
Kim captioned the TikTok, “What my daughter does on my phone ha ha ha ha ha ha.”
‘GROSS’
While the Kardashian sister seemed to find the video humorous, many fans were less amused.
On a Reddit board titled, “Kim shouldn’t have her 10-year-old shilling her products online…” critics expressed their dissatisfaction with her parenting.
One said: “They’re trying to make it look cute and silly like a kid would do but she’s literally just selling the product. Gross.”
“It’s so curated too. I bet there’s a whole team on this project. Gross gross gross,” added another.
A third commenter wrote: “She’s doing really well influencing a bunch of nine and ten-year-olds to buy expensive skincare they don’t need by making videos with Kim’s unwanted PR.
“Of course, Kim is going to make her work and promote her new make-up to the same nine and ten-year-olds…”
A fourth person replied, “This is it. It’s so calculated.”
