Kid Bookie has shared details of his forthcoming album ‘Songs For The Living // Songs For The Dead’ and released its newest cut, ‘Scars’.
Set for release September 12 via Marshall Records, the new record will feature eleven tracks and a number of collaborators, including Good Charlotte’s Billy Martin and Skindred’s Mikey Demus.
On production duties, there’s also a number of impressive names including Tom Mitchener (who’s worked with Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes), Romesh Dodangoda (whose credits include Bring Me The Horizon and Nova Twins), George Perks (Enter Shikari, Skindred), and long-time friend and co-writer Ziey Kizzy.
Speaking about the album and what it means to him, Bookie has shared:
“A lot of this album is about feeling inadequate.
“There are different facets and layers of that inadequacy, and it covers most of my inadequate parts, whether that’s my art or feeling inadequate in terms of love.”

Describing his new single, the London-born artist has said:
“It’s about not being able to leave when you know you should. You’re in a mental torture prison, and you haven’t got the strength to leave.
“You know you should leave, but you’re scared, you’re hurt, and this is what the scars can make you do – people put you in mental prisons, and sometimes the only thing you have left to remember is the scars they leave.”
Kid Bookie is set for a big summer ahead, supporting I PREVAIL across the EU this summer and with appearances at this year’s 2000trees.
