KICK stars can now multi-stream on Twitch & YouTube but there’s a big catch

KICK has revealed that streamers can now multi-stream on Twitch and YouTube, and still make money from KICK. However, there is a catch.

Over the last few years, Twitch has faced a few different challengers to its crown in the streaming world. The likes of YouTube, Facebook Gaming, and Mixer have all taken swipes but not succeeded.

KICK is the newest challenger to that throne, with the Stake-backed platform throwing money at some big names in the streaming world. It has positioned itself as being very pro-streamer, having a 95/5 split on subscriber income instead of Twitch’s 50/50 and 70/30 splits.

Additionally, KICK has followed Twitch in allowing streamers to multi-stream across multiple platforms.

KICK streamers will lose money multi-streaming

However, while KICK has announced that you can make money on their platform while multi-streaming, it will come with a big catch – you have to be a KICK partner and you won’t make as much money.

“While multistreaming, your revenue will be calculated differently and may be reduced by up to 50% compared to streaming exclusively on KICK,” one of KICK’s FAQs says at the bottom of the page.

Streamers who want to multi-stream with KICK will need to activate a specific setting in their streaming settings. “KICK now supports revenue generation while multistreaming to platforms like Twitch and YouTube. To qualify, you must enable the Multistreaming toggle each time you multistream,” it says.

That is a big loss of revenue for many streamers, especially as KICK now allows you to make more than minimum wage – in the US – if you have an average of 50 viewers per hour.

“1000 viewers is $100 an hour. If you average 50 viewers, it is $10 an hour. If you’re a streamer who averages 50 viewers on KICK, without subs, you’re making minimum wage, ok?” Adin Ross said at the start of April.
