Kick has dethroned Twitch in one pretty big streaming stat, and it looks like it is going to hang onto it for a while.
Twitch has faced a number of challengers in the livestreaming world over the last few years. Facebook Gaming and Mixer both fell by the wayside, YouTube is still going strong, and there are other options like Rumble as well.
However, the Stake-backed Kick has proven to be the most successful of the bunch. Not only has Kick managed to sign a number of high-profile streamers away from Twitch, but they’ve also started taking different titles away from the Amazon-owned platform and dug into their market dominance.
In early July, Kick surpassed over 1 billion hours of watch time and, according to some stats, surpassed 25% of the streaming market share.
Kick beats Twitch in Spanish-speaking viewership
However, they’ve now gone one further. As per stats from Kick Vs Twitch, which tracks viewership across a number of different markets, Kick has taken over when it comes to Spanish-speaking streamers and their viewership.
The Stake-backed streaming service jumped past Twitch on July 3 and has not slowed down whatsoever, with the biggest gap between the two coming on July 14.
KickVsTwitch’s stats also got onto the radar of Kick’s Spanish social media channels, who also posted it on X (formerly Twitter) as a celebration.
It is the second time that Twitch has been beaten by Kick when it comes to Spanish-speaking streamers dominating things.
Back in October 2024, Colombian streamer WestCol hit over 1 million concurrent viewers for his Stream Fighters 3 event, which briefly sent Kick above Twitch.
This new period is a bit of a sustained run on top for Kick, with their dominance coming in at around 60% as per Kick Vs Twitch.
