Kevin Dillon, an actor perhaps best known for his role as “Johnny Drama” on the cult HBO comedy Entourage, was recently involved in a car accident that sounds like something that would’ve happened to his fan-favorite character.
According to reports, the 58-year-old Kevin Dillon — younger brother of actor Matt Dillon — was involved in a multi-car accident at a car wash in Los Angeles, California, on Monday, July 1.
At the drive-thru L.A. car wash, drivers are instructed to put their cars in neutral, which Dillon did. After shifting his weight in his seat, however, the Tesla’s computer system read it as him getting out of his seat and then activated the brakes, putting the car in park.
As a result, three cars behind Dillon in line were involved in a fender bender. While the damage was reportedly minimal, one of the involved parties complained of physical discomfort so law enforcement and first responders were called to the scene.
Once authorities were on the scene, they determined that Dillon and his Tesla were responsible for the accident and not the car wash.
“We’re told the deputy concluded the Entourage star was the cause of the accident, not the car wash equipment. Our sources say there’s even a warning sign at the car wash, advising Tesla owners any sudden seat movements could automatically shift their car into park, potentially causing injury or damage to their vehicle or others.” [via TMZ]
In addition to Entourage, which ran on HBO from 2004 to 2011 (followed by a movie in 2015, Dillon’s other notable projects include the Vietnam War film Platoon and the musical biopic The Doors.
Recent years have seen Dillon star in a bevy of B-movies: since 2022, Dillon has starred in seven films, the most recent of which being the 2024 movie Reagan, which stars Dennis Quaid as Ronald Reagan. Dillon portrays Jack Warner, one of the four founders of the powerhouse Hollywood studio Warner Bros.
