Kevin Costner’s potential brewing fling with pop star Jennifer Lopez is reportedly inspiring the 70-year-old actor to get himself in shape. According to reports, Costner wants to pack on “ten pounds of muscle” in order to impress the 55-year-old singer and actress.
Jennifer Lopez and Kevin Cosnter were first spotted spending time together in Aspen around Christmas time, as they were photographed, alongside friends and family as the popular restaurant Kemo Sabe.
Speaking to InTouch Weekly, an alleged inside source cited Lopez’s “incredibly fit body” as being a motivating factor for Costner to get in “heartthrob shape.”
“Kevin keeps himself pretty lean and healthy but he’s now on a mission to add some more muscle and see how fit he can get this year. He wants to be able to whip off his shirt and show off a six-pack like he used to back in his heartthrob days and he’s been told by his trainer that it’s entirely possible to achieve, even at his age,” the source said.
“She’s among those inspiring him to hit the gym and prove age is just a number . Of course, it’s going to take a huge amount of dedication, and not just in the gym but also in the kitchen. [He’s on a] high-protein plan to go along with his training regime that his personal chef will be strictly following. His goal is to add 10 pounds of muscle in time for summer.”
Lopez is coming off a divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck, whom she married in July 2022 before divorcing in August 2024. Cosnter is also coming off of a recent divorce, albeit following a much longer marriage, as he split from previous wife Christine Baumgartner after 20 years together. 2024 wasn’t only a trying time for Lopez and Costner personally with their respective divorces, but professionally, as well.
Lopez was forced to cancel the entirety of her planned summer tour (while unconfirmed, it’s suspected that low ticket sales played a role), while Costner’s self-financed and directed passion project Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 flopped in theaters, leading to Warner Bros. scrapping the planned release of the sequel in August (Chapter 2 will ow premiere at the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 7, 2025).
