Kerry Washington snapped a few presidential selfies at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night — but in Olivia Pope fashion, of course.
The actor, who starred as Olivia Pope in Shonda Rhimes’ hit ABC series “Scandal,” delighted fans by posting two selfies from the United Center in Chicago with her former co-star Tony Goldwyn.
Goldwyn famously played President Fitzgerald Grant III, Olivia’s love interest in the TV drama that ran from 2012 to 2018.
“Giving the people what they want,” Washington posted on X, formerly Twitter.
“Pretty sure y’all took this picture after you had a fight about how much you love each other backstage,” one X user responded.
“Yes! We love to see it!” wrote another.
Goldwyn and Washington have had some fun interacting with fans on social media who have continued to gush over their on-screen chemistry, even after the show ended.
In May, Goldwyn posted a photo on Instagram that showed him and Washington laughing together, writing in the post’s caption: “What can I say? @kerrywashington just makes me laugh!”
Goldwyn served as host for the first night of the DNC on Monday. He told Variety that he had met President Joe Biden on several occasions but that Monday night was his first time meeting Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee.
“It was thrilling,” he said.
Washington was scheduled to host the final night of the DNC on Thursday.
