Eventually, he got around to Mitch Cutter who is a salmon conservationist.

He works for the Idaho Conservation League as a Salmon & Steelhead Associate.

At the beginning of Mitch’s interview, Ken asked if he still worked with salmon.

Mitch responded: “Yeah, still working with salmon. They’re still in dire straights.

“I did get a chance to see my first wild Chinook in central Idaho in a place called Beaver Creek.”

Chinook is a type of salmon that can grow to about 30 pounds.

He went on to say that the river used to be filled with thousands of fish, “so that just shows how far we have to go.”

The game show host followed up by asking: “Now, the deal in my neighborhood was that the salmon run was clogged by a beaver dam in the park by my house.

“What should I do? Should I go blow up the beaver dam?”

Mitch responded very seriously by telling Ken not to do anything because the salmon would find their way through.

Ken then joked: “Well I appreciate the tip. You saved me from some eco-terrorism.”

FANS GONE WILD

During yesterday’s episode, contestant Ben Hebert made a shocking announcement about online fans.

While getting to know Ben, Ken recalled the last time he was on the show and recalled that he went viral for holding a Twilight poster at a race his wife was running.

Ken asked him: “What was it like talking about Twilight on national TV?”

Ben responded: “Well, um, it was great and a little scary.

“After I told that the episode aired I got a Facebook message a couple days later from someone saying: ‘Are you the Ben that was on Jeopardy!? I’m in a Twilight Facebook group and we’re looking for you.'”

Everyone laughed and Ben continued: “That was the exact phrasing, and after I got over my fear I went to the group and sure enough, there was a picture of me basically saying: ‘Who is this guy? We must find him.’

“With, like, thousands of likes and stuff like that.”

He then gave the Twilight fans in the Facebook group a shout-out on the episode before saying: “Please don’t look for me again.”

WINNER WINNER

Contestant Juveria Zaheer has continued to win on Monday’s episode, leaving fans convinced she’s just getting warmed up.

After dominating the Season 39 Second Chance finals, Juveria is just one step away from the Tournament of Champions in February.

In the first part of the Second Chance finals, Juveria sealed her star power with an impressive $51,200 against competitors Iris Masucci and Jason Carpenter.

Ken remarked: “Juveria is certainly feeling the holiday spirit. Her score on Friday’s game was the highest we’ve seen all season!”

Despite Season 40’s challenges with recycled contestants and questions due to the former WGA strike, the postponed Season 39 tournaments – with all-new material – are finally underway.

The Second Chance Competition features 36 players who, given a second chance, aim to secure $35,000 and entry into a Wildcard competition in January.

There, two coveted spots in the Tournament of Champions are up for grabs.
