Kelly Rowland Believes Chris Brown Deserves ‘Forgiveness’
In a conversation with TMZ on November 21st, Rowland spoke about her American Music Awards moment, when she quieted a crowd booing at Brown winning an award. Rowland stated that she believes people are worthy of second chances and that the public needs a dose of humility.
Rowland also shared that people need to focus on the good rather than picking at the bad and choosing to cast stones at every turn. The singer said people need to forgive Brown, especially regarding his controversy with Rihanna, which happened almost 14 years ago.
She explained that it’s the nature of human beings to come up short occasionally and that when they do, they deserve to start afresh and not have their past thrown at them again and again. As the singer noted, it’s this ability to start again that makes us human.
Kelly Rowland Defended Him At The AMAs
Rowland recently came under fire for her speech while announcing Brown’s win at the AMAs and for shushing the haters in the audience. The former “Destiny’s Child” star announced that Brown had won the Favorite Male R&B Artist award. The announcement triggered boos from the crowd, and the singer immediately shut it down, insisting on finishing her speech.
Rowland then thanked Brown for his years of contribution to music and praised him. She said, “Excuse me, child chill out. But I wanna tell Chris thank you so much for making great RnB music and I wanna tell him thank you for being an incredible performer. I’ll take this award, bring it to you, I love you, Congratulations.”
