Mark Consuelos only has eyes for long-time wife Kelly Ripa… even leaving his peepers agape when the couple is in the heat of locking lips.
Ripa revealed her husband’s weird swapping spit habit on the most recent episode of her podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera. “This man has made out with me and I will somehow open my eyes, and I see him staring,” the actress and TV personality revealed. “I’m like, ‘Can you not have your eyes open?’”
Indeed, images of the pair sharing PDA on the red carpet back up Ripa’s claim.
Mark Consuelos Has Another Concerning Habit While Traveling with Kelly Ripa
Meanwhile, Consuelos has another concerning habit: wearing jeans to the airport to ensure security will handle his crotch. Consuelos revealed in a recent episode of Live With Kelly & Mark that his favorite traveling jeans always get snagged by the TSA.
“They’re very soft, they’re not too tight,” Consuelos explained of his beloved denim. However, they do have one drawback. “Every time I go through the metal detector, they go off.”
Consuelos noted that when the metal detector goes off, he’s typically sent to the body scanner—where things get a tad too personal for comfort.
“It shows, like, stuff, in the front area,” Mark awkwardly detailed. “You can say crotch,” Ripa quipped.
“Anyway, the guy is usually a big, burly guy, and he’s like, ‘I’ve got to pat you down, man,’” Consuelos explained. “He goes, ‘You want a private room?’”
Mark Consuelos praised the airport staff for handling the crotch conundrum with such patience. He humorously noted how the agent expertly used the back of their hand during the pat-down, making the awkward situation almost bearable.
“There’s no extra zipper, no extra rivets, nothing,” Consuelos insisted. “On the way back home from California, I got stopped again. This time, they just said random.”
“So, I went through. He had to do it again, and he puts on a glove.”
Consuelos found himself getting hopeful.
“I’m like, what are we doing? This is just second base, no? We’re just doing second base!” Mark never mentioned getting rid of the beloved jeans.
Ripa and Consuelos first crossed paths in 1995 during auditions for All My Children. Consuelos was cast as Ripa’s on-screen love interest, and their off-screen romance quickly blossomed. After less than a year of dating, they eloped in Las Vegas in 1996. Since then, they have welcomed three children: Michael, 26; Lola, 22; and Joaquin, 21.
