KELLY Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock was seen beaming with his family at the rodeo just months before his tragic death at 48.
In the photos taken in March 2025, Brandon can be seen smiling with various loved ones, including his famous stepmom, Reba McEntire.
Less than five months before the shocking announcement that Brandon had passed away after his battle with cancer, he was pictured during happier times.
In the photo, posted by Brandon’s brother, Shelby Blackstock, the rancher can be seen wearing a cowboy hat, denim jacket, and blue checkered shirt at the Houston Rodeo.
The post also includes Reba, 70, who was previously married to Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock, along with the singer’s current partner, Rex Linn.
In another picture shared by Shelby, Brandon appeared to be having a fun time playing arcade games.

Another glimpse into the family-fun night showed Brandon and the rest of the group beaming for the camera in the stands of the Texas venue.
They got closer and hugged for the camera backstage in another photo, where the Fancy singer also made another appearance.
“Family time, the @rodeohouston , & corn dogs! We had a blast in Houston watching @rissablackstock experience her first rodeo.
“And being able to spend cherished time with family! Mom’s concert was the icing on the cake,” Brandon’s brother, Shelby, captioned the Instagram post.
Brandon, who became very private following his divorce from Kelly, 43, was rarely pictured in recent years.
After the couple’s separation in June 2020, Brandon left Los Angeles, where Kelly was currently residing to host her talk show, and moved to live a quieter life on his ranch in Montana.
The couple endured a drawn-out custody battle that turned nasty in court after Kelly filed for divorce.
Their divorce was finalized in 2022 and cost Kelly a fortune, including a one-time payment of $1.3 million, monthly child support of $45,601, as well as a monthly spousal support payment of $115,000.
However, Kelly was granted primary custody of their two children, River Rose, 10, and Remington Alexander, 8, with Brandon having visitation rights
‘GREAT SADNESS’
On Thursday, Starstruck Entertainment, which is the music agency where Brandon worked, confirmed that he had died.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away.
“Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years,
“He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.
“We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time,” they wrote in the statement first published by People.
CAUSE OF CONCERN
Fans were concerned for Kelly and her family on Wednesday when she announced the abrupt cancellation of her Las Vegas residency that was set to go on this month.
She said in the rare public statement: “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”
Kelly first met Brandon at an event in 2006, when his father Narvel, was her manager.
Narvel was married to Reba from 1989 to 2005, making Brandon her former stepson.
Brandon then began to manage Kelly herself and handled her professional and personal transition from Nashville to Los Angeles to launch The Kelly Clarkson Show.
He also managed their good friend, Blake Shelton, at the time.
However, once Kelly divorced Brandon, he left the music industry and became a full-time rancher at his property in Montana.
