KATY Perry spoke out about false images of her that were circulating online in her latest social media post.
The 39-year-old singer also warned fans that they’re in for a ride with her new album, due in the fall, after false AI images of her at the Met Gala were shared online.
Katy took to X, formerly Twitter, to express her thoughts in the aftermath of the photos.
“Wow ppl are STILL texting me that they can’t believe they missed me at The Met,” she posted.
“Or OMG you killed it etc etc… welp, hold on to your common sense hat cause we in for a ride this fall…” she finished with a cowboy emoji.
Katy had been teasing a new album through her social media after she announced she would be leaving American Idol after this current season.
On Tuesday a video emerged of Katy working in her studio while the Met Gala took place in New York.
She opted to skip the event, which she last attended in 2022, and instead worked on new music.
In the video uncovered by PopBase, she donned a skin-tight black leather outfit that comprised of a corset top and pants.
She sang into a microphone with her hand on her hip which teased that she was working hard on her new album.
Before this, fans were shocked after AI-generated photos of both Katy and Rihanna, 36, were shared online.
The photos showed both artists wearing floral dresses within the theme of The Garden of Time.
Katy’s images were completely false, with the star not even in attendance.
In her false image, Katy wore a white chiffon dress that featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and a cinched-in waist.
The princess dress came out into a huge train behind her and was covered in stitched-on flowers and branches, which imitated a forest floor covered in moss.
In the photos, her brunette locks were heavily styled and fell over her shoulder.
WHERE’S KATY?
Fans flooded X with confusion after they couldn’t see a trace of either Rihanna or Katy at the event.
“I saw photos of her there?” one asked.
“But I thought I saw her…huh?” another added.
“Wait what about the forest dress?” a third said.
“We all know it’s because this AI picture of her at the Met Gala ate up her actual look and she was too embarrassed,” a fourth remarked.
Katy revealed she planned to leave Idol while on Jimmy Kimmel Live in February.
