Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe have announced that they will serve as the headliners for Drifter Fest this fall. The fourth annual event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 at The Refinery in Charleston, N.C., following a pre-jam on Friday, Sept. 13 at Home Team BBQ. KDTU’s forthcoming slot at this year’s festival is included on their Mason Diesel Line Tour, running throughout September.
Fresh off of his run on The Rolling Stones’ Hackney Diamonds tour, the Mason Diesel Line outing will bring Denson and company to 12 cities across the Southeast. The tour will commence at the beginning of September in Nashville, Tenn. before heading to Asheville, N.C. for a headline performance at Boomtown Arts & Heritage FestAVL on Sept. 6.
The group will then head back to Tennessee for a show at Knoxville’s Bijou Theatre on Sept. 7 before embarking on a handful of performances across Virginia and the Carolinas, including their Drifter Fest appearance on Sept. 14. The tour’s final series of performances will take Denson’s Tiny Universe to The Hamilton Live in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 18, The Foundry in Waynesboro, Va. on Sept. 19, and lastly, to the Healing Appalachia Festival in Lewisburg, W.Va. on Sept. 20, where they will perform their final set of the tour.
In addition to Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, the festival will also feature performing acts Junco Partner, The Reckoning and Just Groove. Furthermore, 54 Bicycles will kick off the event at Friday night’s pre-jam event. For more information on this year’s Drifter Fest, visit www.drifterfest.com.
