Kai Cenat asked to break Twitch rule no one knew about during massive Playboi Carti stream

Kai Cenat was asked to break Twitch rules while streaming at the Rolling Loud festival as he joined Playboi Carti on stage.

When Playboi Carti announced that, after five long years, he’d be dropping a new album, the hip-hop community was set ablaze. The album – I AM MUSIC – had been expected to be released on March 13, however, Carti left everyone waiting.

Kai Cenat was at the forefront of that, with the Twitch star having over 300,000 watch him waiting for the release. He also spoke to the ‘Whole Lotta Red’ hitmaker a few times for updates, with Carti also suggesting that they will, at some point, do a 24-hour stream together.

As the rapper headlined part of Rolling Loud festival on March 16, the pair linked up, with Kai being pulled on stage to join him, The Weeknd, and others.

Rolling Loud asked Kai Cenat for huge Twitch raid

Naturally, the AMP star had an absolutely massive audience tuning in to watch him – well over 100,000 viewers at points. That dwarfed the festival’s official stream.

They even asked Kai to raid them when he joined Carti on stage, which would have sent his viewers over there. While he agreed at first, the Twitch star realized he’d be breaking the rules by doing so.

“Here’s the thing, I can’t even raid nobody because we have more viewers than the maximum raid amount,” he told his viewers. “70,000 viewers or more? You can’t raid nobody. I can’t!”

Plenty of viewers were surprised to hear that from Kai, noting they’ve never heard of such a rule. “THERES A CAP ON HOW MUCH U CAN RAID?!?!, WHAT?!?!” one said. “I’ve actually never heard of this twitch rule before,” another chimed in.

As per Twitch’s guidelines, channels can set the maximum number of viewers that they’d like to get from a raid. They can also ignore that and not set a number. However, the figure Kai mentions is likely a limitation from the streaming service on the server side of things. Either way, he wasn’t getting himself in trouble.
