Remember when Justin Timberlake apologized to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson for how he treated them? Yeah, well, forget all of that.
During a performance Wednesday night in New York, Timberlake was caught on video telling the audience that he would like to take a moment to apologize … “to absolutely f—— nobody.”
While not naming any names, it didn’t take Britney Spears and Janet Jackson fans long to break out their torches and pitchforks and go hunting for the “SexyBack” singer.
Naturally, because she lives on social media these days, Britney caught wind of what Justin Timberlake said and issued her own very thinly veiled response on Instagram.
“Someone told me someone was talking s— about me on the streets!!!, she wrote. “Do you want to bring it to the court or will you go home crying to your mom like you did last time??? I’m not sorry!!!”
Spears appears to be referring to two things in that semi-cryptic message.
(1) Using a photo of a basketball hoop would indicate she is referring to a series of photos she shared last year showing her and JT playing basketball.
“Psss I never mentioned how I beat him in basketball and he would cry,” she wrote in the caption to the photos.
(2) Britney recently apologized to Timberlake (sort of) for spilling all sorts of tea about him in her book, including the fact that she aborted his baby.
“I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book,” she wrote. “If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry.”
Also, in an absolutely incredible coincidence, today, Feb. 1, is the 20th anniversary of Justin Timberlake exposing Janet Jackson’s breast during their Super Bowl halftime performance in 2004.
A performance that Timberlake supposedly did to one-up his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears (they broke up in March 2002) after she, Madonna and Christina Aguilera locked lips on stage during the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
