JUSTIN Timberlake has called off his one-night-only London gig due to illness.
Less than 24 hours before he was due on stage at the Roundhouse Theatre, the Cry Me a River singer told fans that he was under the weather and had no choice but to cancel.
Speaking in a hoarse voice, he said: “This is an unfortunate video I have to send out. But I’m sure you can tell from the sound of things that I am not going to be able to make it to the show on Friday, which I’m gutted about.”
“I’ve been here in London all week and was so excited to perform Roundhouse. But… I’ve been battling some kind of bug and I thought it was getting better but it took a turn for the worse.”
The star is due to appear on tonight’s episode of the Graham Norton show which was pre-recorded in the week. But the 43-year-old admitted that he felt so ropey he “almost didn’t make it on the show, but was able to power through.”
But now it seems that pushing himself through the filming process for the chat show, may have been a step too far for his constitution, after waking up this morning ‘feeling worse.’
He went on to promise that ‘maybe next time’ he would be able to perform at the Camden venue, but said he feels ‘terrible’ and added “I hope none of you get this flu”.
Indeed the hitmaker has just announced a world tour covering North America and Europe with a series of UK dates to coincide with the release of his new album, Everything I thought It Was.
The Tour will take him across the UK and Europe, from Germany to Sweden, France and the UK, where he will perform in Birmingham, Manchester and London in August 2024.
It marks the 10 time Grammy winners big comeback, having not been on the road since 2018. His wife the actress Jessica Biel, 41, with whom he has two children, has agreed to the dates, providing they can be made to fit around family life.
A source said: “They don’t want to be apart from each other for months at a time, so he has constructed a schedule where he gets to go home to Jessica and the kids a lot.”
