JOJO Siwa fans have accused the star of using a stunt double in her new Karma music video.
The singer’s former dance instructor Abby Lee Miller shared a video of herself reacting to the clip after watching it for the first time.
Fans claimed that Jojo, 20, faked landing a side aerial in the music video for her new single Karma.
The clip for the single, which debuted on Friday, features the ex child star performing on a yacht in the middle of the ocean with a crew of backup dancers.
In the video, the Jojo sings and dances in a full-body suit of black sequins, paired with matching designs all over her face.
Jojo belts about “karma” while interacting with dozens of others in similar outfits.
The Dance Moms alum paid extra attention to a brunette dancer, dressed in a bodysuit covered in red sequins, and another girl dressed in white.
During the breakdown, the star jumped overboard and was filmed while singing underwater.
She also participated in a scene on a deserted island before returning to the ship.
The clip raised controversy for several reasons, namely from fans claiming her rebrand to be “inappropriate” for her younger fans online.
After much encouragement from her followers, Jojo’s former dance instructor Abby Lee Miller, 58, decided to review her student’s video while watching it for “the very first time.”
Fans watched as Abby reacted to the clip, sharing her opinions regarding each scene.
Toward the beginning of the video, Jojo ran from the right side and flipped into an aerial.
Several fans claimed she used a “stunt double” for the move, as the video cut quickly into the next scene.
“My favorite part of Jojo Siwa’s Karma video is this unnecessary jump cut like… is that a stunt double… did Jojo not land this? what’s the tea abby lee,” one wrote on X.
“Stunt double,” a second claimed, while a third agreed, “Oh my God, I didn’t even see that!”
“Hahah she can’t dance so probably,” a fourth theorized.
“Would’ve been hilarious if it wasn’t her. It’s an odd cut for sure. The camera resets to the original position so I’m going to assume these are two very different takes that have been slapped together; poorly.
“They used her best flip and then cut straight to the choreography,” a fifth guessed.
“My guess is that after the aerial she couldn’t change her momentum back fast enough to start the moves on time. So they cut to a take where she starts in position to dance,” another claimed.
NEW ERA
Jojo has been the center of scrutiny during what fans are calling her adult “rebrand.”
The former pageant star has changed her look dramatically and has faced heavy criticism on social media.
The TLC notable had been teasing the release of her new song over the last month by sharing a series of controversial Instagram posts that spelled out an NSFW message about karma.
Both the lyrics of the song and the video itself have been branded “not family friendly” by much of her fandom.
