John Wick is, without question, the most iconic action hero of the last decade, therefore making him one of the great action heroes in cinema history. As such, it’s only natural to imagine how he’d fair against some of his contemporaries.

Frankly, John Wick has built up such a mystique that whenever you ask a movie fan, “Who would win in a fight, John Wick or X CHARACTER?”, the Baba Yaga is chosen without hesitation 99% of the time.

With that in mind, when speaking to John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski, I asked him not which character could potentially beat Wick, but which characters would be the easiest and hardest for him to kill.

Assume everyone’s wearing bulletproof suits: which modern action icon would John Wick have the hardest and easiest time killing? The Transporter, Jason Bourne, Daniel Craig’s James Bond, Ethan Hunt, Tyler Rake (Extraction), and Denzel as The Equalizer

“Equalizer’s smart — hard to corner. The Transporter in a car? Also tricky. If Ethan Hunt runs, no problem. John walks — but he’d catch him,” Stahelski explained, clearly having worked through this logic before.

“Bourne, if it’s early Bourne, he doesn’t even know who he is yet, so that’s an edge for John. Tyler Rake? Big target. I still bet on Wick. Bond? Distract him with a woman — done. (laughs) I’ve thought about this before. But honestly, I’d rather see them team up.”

The latest entry in the John Wick franchise — the first to not feature Keanu Reeves in the LEAD role — Ballerina, stars Ana de Armas and will be released in movie theaters in the United States on Friday, June 6.

BroBible head the chance to speak to de Armas ahead of the film’s release, where we discussed the variety of weapons (20+!) she uses in the film, trying to be the first one to fill Wick’s shoes, learning from Keanu Reeves, the pride she feels in doing her own stunts, her memories from Blade Runner 2049, and more.

We also interviewed Chad a couple years ago ahead of the release oh John Wick: Chapter 4, which you can check out below.
