Joe Rogan has doubled down on his criticism of Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson, and it comes in the wake of the YouTuber-turned-boxer reportedly canceling an appearance on the JRE Podcast.
When Jake Paul and Mike Tyson were preparing to step into the ring together, plenty of outsiders were concerned with the age gap between the two fighters and just how ‘Iron’ Mike would fare after a few years of being out of action.
Ultimately, when they did step into the ring, it went about how everyone expected. Tyson struggled to land blows on the younger fighter. That, as it usually does with Jake’s fights, led to claims of it being rigged.
The pair have both downplayed those claims, of course, but Joe Rogan has also been a critic of how things went.
Joe Rogan says Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul looked like “sparring”
After the fight happened, Rogan, who is friendly with Tyson, said that the fight resembled more of a sparring session than a fight.
Well, during episode 2280 of the JRE Podcast, he doubled down on that with guest Peter Berg. “It looked like sparring to me,” he said after Berg questioned if Jake’s fights are “even real” when they happen.
“I wouldn’t wanna speculate because I haven’t talked to anybody about it. But my educated assessment? Yes, it looked like sparring; it didn’t look like a fight.”

Rogan wasn’t totally dismissive of Paul, touching on the canceled fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
“Ridiculous? Yeah, but fun. I’d watch it if Jake Paul wants to test himself against actual, not just world champions, but one of the greatest of all time,” he said, before claiming that Jake would at least survive a few rounds with the Mexican.
“I’d like to see what happens. It’d be crazy. I like a little freak show every now and again,” he added.
Jake was reportedly set to be on the JRE Podcast to promote his planned fight with Canelo.
However, that got scrapped at the last minute as the Mexican superstar signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season.
