Veteran guitarist Joe Perry has announced an eight-stop tour featuring an all-star cast of rock musicians, including Aerosmith bandmates Brad Whitford and Buck Johnson, The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson, and members of the Stone Temple Pilots, Robert Deleo and Eric Kretz. The forthcoming run picks up at the Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa, Fla., on August 13.
The next night, the ensemble will arrive at the Seminole Hard Rock location in Hollywood, Fla., before jetting up the coast for the Northeastern leg of their tour. On August 16, the band billed as The Joe Perry Project will perform at HISTORY in Toronto before hitting a secondary Canadian stop on August 17 at Kee to Bala in Muskoka, Ontario.
Dipping down to the States, the group is scheduled to play Boston’s Wang Theatre on August 19, followed by Hampton Beach in Hampton Beach, N.H., on August 20. From there, the band will bring their fused talents to The Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., on August 22 before bringing their tour to a close on August 23 at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y.
Perry provided context on the tour via press release, “I’m really excited about the JPP lineup this year!!!! Most of these guys played with me at The Roxy in L.A. at the debut event for my latest solo album [Sweetzerland Manifesto] in January 2018. They’re all busy as hell but thankfully they’re able to carve out some time for this run.”
“And I’m not only lucky enough to have Brad Whitford onstage with me but Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes! [who sang ‘Fortunate One’ on Sweetzerland Manifesto MKII], Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz from STP!!! and Buck Johnson who plays keys and sings with Aerosmith, the Hollywood Vampires, and is also a solo artist in his own right,” he continued.
Touching on what folks can expect from his newly announced live shows, Perry added, “the set list is gonna include my fav JPP cuts, STP, Black Crowes, and with Brad we’ll be hitting the Aero hits and some deep cuts and then ya never know!!!! Gonna be a BLAST, and if you’ve ever been to one of my shows you know the words GARAGE BAND on STEROIDS come to mind! See you there!!!!”
