Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page has reunited with The Black Crowes’ Chris and Rich Robinson in a new short film titled The Making of Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes Live At The Greek.
The documentary comes two months after the release of the 25th anniversary reissue of the collaborative album, which was remastered by Kevin Shirley and includes 16 previously unreleased tracks.
In the 11-minute film (watch below) — directed by Barbara McDonough and edited by Rick Ballard — the Robinson brothers sit down with Page to reminisce about the recording of the original Live At The Greek album, which was released in February 2000.

In the film, Rich recalls being introduced to Page by Robert Plant, after the Black Crowes had toured with the Led Zeppelin singer. “A couple years later, we were in London, we were doing a couple nights at the Royal Albert Hall, and Robert’s like, ‘Can I bring Jimmy down?,’ and we were like, ‘We’d love to meet Jimmy! Of course!’ And we just hit it off like that [snaps fingers].”
Page added, “It was really good for me to meet [the Black Crowes], because I had really admired them from the recording work they had done. They were definitely from the same school I came from.”
The original album featured Page and the Black Crowes performing Led Zeppelin classics and other cover songs at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, but due to contractual issues their performances of any Black Crowes originals were left off the tracklist. Those tracks have been included in the 25th anniversary edition, along with other previously unreleased performances.
The Black Crowes have North American shows scheduled through late September (pick up tickets here), while Chris Robinson will front The Joe Perry Project for a run of dates in August (tickets available here).
