Ryan opened up about her wellness secret in an interview with Vogue. She says that being consistent with her wellness habits help her skin stay clear. “It’s about rituals and not miracles, gratitude and letting go of resentment, drinking a lot of water and staying hydrated, getting a lot of sleep and finding what works for you,” she says.
Ryan shared her skincare secrets in her Vogue interview. She says that she wanted to educate herself on skincare. “My face just really freaked out actually later in my teens,” she says. “You know, when you’re a teenager, it’s spotty and then I was wearing makeup and under lights and I decided to educate myself as much as possible on what worked for me. And it’s so different for everyone.”
In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, Ryan talked about her struggles with body dysmorphia, and how she’s starting to accept her body. “Dysmorphia has been a dark passenger of mine for years. I first noticed it at 13, when I was told to draw an image of my body, and the silhouette and shape of what I saw apparently did not line up at all with what everyone else saw. I don’t know to this day if I’ve ever looked in the mirror and seen what other people see when they look at me. And I have never had a day, not one day, where I looked in the mirror and thought, ‘Cool.’ It used to be all I wanted but I’ve accomplished a lot in 12 years, so maybe I don’t need that to feel fulfilled any more.”
Ryan talked about living in the public eye during the age of social media to The Sydney Morning Herald. She says that she feels like privacy is important. “I do think it’s really important to talk about the fact that there’s no number of engagement rings or number of followers or a number on a scale that can bring you what you’re looking for. We need to just give grace to the people around us and remember nobody owes us their secrets.”
As you can see from her Instagram post, Ryan enjoys hiking. According to The American Hiking Society, it can help reduce a person’s chances for getting heart problems. “According to a study done for the American Heart Association, 631,636 died from heart disease in 2006. Another study estimates that heart disease will cost the nation $316.4 billion in terms of treatment, medication, and lost productivity.* The results of 43 separate studies by The Centers for Disease Control showed that by exercising, individuals significantly reduce their chances for heart problems, while those who do not exercise are twice as likely to have coronary heart disease.”
