Jeremy Renner Shows His Recovery 2 Months After Accident

Jeremey Renner is giving fans a glimpse of what it’s like to heal from an accident that left him in serious condition. It’s been two months since the Avengers star was raced to the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries after a near fatal snow plow accident near his Reno, Nevada home on New Year’s Day. While clearing snow from a driveway, he was accidentally pulled under and ran over by the plow. It’s been a long healing process, but the actor is staying positive and focused on his recovery. In a brief Instagram Story, Renner shared a clip of him sitting and pedaling one leg on a stationary bike at home with the assistance of a tool. He wrote: “Whatever it Takes.”

Snow plows are essential in clearing the roads after a storm, but accidents can happen and oftentimes involve another motor vehicle. However, Renner’s case was different. During a press conference about the incident two days after it happened, Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said the 52-year-old was run over by the 14,000-pound machine after it started to roll away and he wasn’t in the driver’s seat. He was injured when he tried to get back into the snowcat. Authorities investigating the accident did not believe Renner was intoxicated and said it was “a tragic accident.” “He was being a great neighbor and he was plowing those roads for his neighbor,” Balaam said. The Mayor of Kingston star was airlifted to a hospital where he had emergency surgery for “blunt chest trauma.”

Family Members Were With Renner at the Time of the Accident

The accident occurred when Renner was clearing snow from a driveway so family visiting him could leave and were with him during the time of the accident. A 911 call was received at 8:55am PT reporting the crash on Mount Rose Highway, Sheriff Darin Balaam shared during the press conference that took place a couple days after the accident. It wasn’t snowing at the time, but Balaam said Mount Rose Highway was closed due to “severe winter weather” and shared how the snow hadn’t been removed yet. “He added that about 13 to 20 abandoned cars were also on the highway that were difficult to maneuver around”, CNN reported. First responders were already on the scene when the sheriff’s department arrived around 9:30 am.
