Jeremy Renner is continuing on his mission of healing and getting back into shape. Putting in the work. One way street here, getting better every day. Over a year after his near-fatal snow plow accident that left him in the ICU fighting for his life, the Marvel star is looking ripped. “Putting in the work…One way street here, getting better everyday,” he captioned the Instagram Stories image of himself holding heavy weights. How has the actor approached his recovery and return to fitness? Here is everything you need to know.
In May 2023, just 4 months after his accident, Renner shared a video showing him walking with the assistance of a walker. “My PT made this for reference and to remember, you cannot walk unless you take one step at a time!” he captioned the post.
Jeremy refused to let the pain stop him. “I’ve decided to push through the pain of progress (this damn shattered tibia) and take the new parts for a tiny test drive,” Renner wrote in a post. “The body is miraculous…. Even though I feel like the Tin Man, needing oil for all my new joints (hips, knees, ankles, tibia etc ). Encouraged after this warm up to press on ( don’t tell my PT).”
In November 2023, 10 months after the accident, Renner shared a video of himself skippin down his driveway. “Today marks the day on 10 months of recovery …. First attempt at any of this activity (especially at steep grade) and was brought to tears of joy, hopefulness, and gratitude for all your support along with my family and friends…. I keep pushing for many reasons, but you are my fuel,” he captioned the post.
In November 2023, Renner revealed that he had “been exploring EVERY type of therapy since Jan 14th … everyday , countless hours of physical therapy, peptide injections, iv drips and pushes, stem cell and exosomes, red light / IR therapy, hyperbaric chamber 2.0 atmospheres, cold plunge, and the list goes on and on,” he wrote. “My greatest therapy has been my mind and the will to be here and push to recover and be better…. Be exceptional… I feel it’s my duty to do so. Not to squander my life being spared , but to give back to my family, friends, and all of you whom have empowered me to endure . I thank you all.”
Last week Renner shared a huge milestone via his Instagram Stories. “First unassisted flat run at 12.5 MPH,” he wrote.
