The video text stated: “That feel when your favorite show ends on a cliffhanger.”

The post referred to the ongoing Second Chance contest for previous non-winners from Season 39 and how its finals are split between Fridays and Mondays each week.

The caption said: “We don’t find out who wins this week of Second Chance until NEXT YEAR?!?”

However, viewers in the comments section wished for the tournament to end already.

‘SICK OF SECOND CHANCES!’

“Seems appropriate that this tournament would go through two years. Definitely feels like it,” one person mocked.

Another argued: “When are regular shows coming back?” while a third slammed, “‘See you next year’ is not a funny joke. This has gone on way too long.”

One person wrote: “We’ve quit watching. So sick of ‘Second Chance.’ Is there a reason they can’t get contestants?”

A commentator chimed: “At this point, it’s like the Sixth Chance tournament.”

Fan fury has reached a fever pitch as, partly due to since-resolved strikes, new players and regular episodes aren’t back until April.

A SECOND CHANCE

In late December 2023, the Second Chance tournament started with the redemption round for players who fell short in the previous season.

The popular quiz show offered 36 contestants another shot at glory and two coveted spots for a bid at the prestigious $250,000 prize money in the Tournament of Champions.

The event also marked a return to the norm for show.

The tournament was supposed to kick off Season 40 before the Writers Guild of America strikes.

This is not the only time fans have shared their thoughts about The Second Chance Tournament.

Contestant Juveria Zaheer received high praise from fans as she became the standout.

One fan said: “Hats way off to Juveria for her dominant performances.

“I’ll be rooting for you 100% going forward! And congrats also to Jason for his very strong play throughout. It was a pleasure!”

Another added: “Fantastic gameplay from Juveria all around!

“I’ll 100 percent be rooting for her to win the Champions Wildcard. I think she could be a force to be reckoned with in the TOC.”

If Juveria proceeds after Wildcard, she might face against Hannah WilsonBen Chan, and Cris Pannullo in February.

Contestant Ben Hebert came in second place during his Second Chance opportunity.

‘YOU SAVED ME’

Also during the Second Chance episode, host Ken Jennings, 49, made what some fans called an inappropriate comment while speaking with contestant Mitch Cutter, a salmon conservationist.

Ken asked: “Now, the deal in my neighborhood was that the salmon run was clogged by a beaver dam in the park by my house.

“What should I do? Should I go blow up the beaver dam?”

Mitch told the TV host not to do anything because the salmon would find their way through.

Ken joked: “Well, I appreciate the tip. You saved me from some eco-terrorism.”

The TV personality became the sole host after former co-host Mayim Bialik, 48, was fired in mid-December 2023.
