Powell is an extremely independent person. She tells The Attitude that she adopted this mindset after her divorce. “It contributed hugely,” she said. “Because what’s happened now – and that’s 10 years on – is that I’m extremely independent. I feel far more secure in myself about what I can achieve and what I can do on my own. And that goes from what clothes I wear. I’m a completely different person. I dress differently. I’ve taken control.”
As independent as she is, Powell also isn’t afraid to admit when she needs help. “Don’t [ever] be afraid to ask for help,” she said to The Attitude. “Don’t ever be afraid to say, ‘Look, should I be unsure about this?’ or ‘I could really do with you helping me with this.’ And I think you have to take that onboard sometimes to just say, ‘You know what: I’ve got her, him, him, her… And I’m going to draw on that today because I need it.”
Powell is open about her love of yoga. She has posted photos on Instagram of herself in different poses. “It’s changed my life – honestly,” she said to The Attitude. “I’ve done it properly for the past year, I mean properly. It’s accepting the fact that you can take one hour out of the day.”
In her interview with The Attitude, Powell stressed the importance of going after what she wants, and not second-guessing herself. “I do believe deep down that you’ve got to dig deep,” she says. “You just have to take a bit of that energy from that fire in your belly and you have to go for it. There’s no such thing as ‘I’d love to’; just do it.”
Powell opened up about her favorite meals to Your Healthy Living. She says that she does a lot of cooking for her family. She also says that she avoids using processed foods or things that just need to be heated up. “I always make sure that we cook our meals from scratch. I don’t use anything processed or ready-made.”
