In her newsletter, Lopez revealed that she has started weightlifting. “I think as we grow and mature, we start losing muscle and start aching,” Lopez writes. “The more strength we can get in our body by lifting is really something that makes me feel strong, able and empowered. That along with stretching and staying limber and mobile are the most important things.”
For Lopez, working out is all about being consistent. “Very rarely will I skip my workout,” she told Us Weekly. “Sometimes, I work too late the night before, and I’m like, ‘Ugh, I can’t do this.’ But I tell myself, ‘Just do it. It’s only an hour.’ It’s just talking yourself off the ledge of being a lazy bum.” Lopez even says that she works out on her birthday.
Lopez does a lot of traveling. And no matter where she is, she finds time to workout. She tells HollywoodLife that she works with two different trainers. “When I’m in New York, I work out with David Kirsch — he’s an amazing trainer. When I’m in L.A., I work with Tracy Anderson. I like the balance that they both give me. They have two totally different approaches. I like switching it up with my body.”
Lopez has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it. She shared some of her secrets in her HollywoodLife interview. “I’m rarely in the sun, but if I am, I wear a lot of sunscreen. I’ve never been one to take a lot of sun, which is why my skin has maintained itself. And I don’t drink or smoke or have caffeine. That really wrecks your skin as you get older.”
Lopez has a busy schedule, and often works late nights. However, she makes sure to get enough sleep each night. “I love a good nine or 10 hours, but I can never get that,” she told HollywoodLife. “So seven or eight is mandatory. [If I don’t get it] I just don’t feel right. I start feeling crazy, I get emotional and I feel tired all the time.”
