After months of speculation and rumors, Jennifer Lopez officially filed for divorce from her husband Ben Affleck, ending a marriage that began in July 2022.
What makes Jennifer Lopez’s divorce from Ben Affleck particularly ironic is that just earlier this year, she released a concept album and accompanying movie that’s essentially about her finally finding true love, as this viral tweet with over 7 million views points out.
“Jennifer Lopez filing for divorce after making a whole movie about how she finally found true love is like when I tell everyone about the book I’m reading and then get bored after 75 pages,” the tweet reads.
The album, titled This Is Me… Now, was released on February 16, 2024, and the narrative feature film, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, was released on Prime Video that same day.
According to Amazon, This Is Me…Now “is like nothing you’ve ever seen from Jennifer Lopez — alongside director Dave Meyers, Jennifer has created a narrative-driven, cinematic original which showcases her journey to love through her own eyes.”
In addition to the album and narrative film, Lopez also released a documentary called The Greatest Love Story Never Told, which apparently includes “a scene in the doc/visual film where you can tell when it clicked for him that it was gonna be a problem,” said another viral tweet.
I think it was when she printed all his love letters, bound them in a book and let the whole production read them.

There have certainly been tons of instances of Affleck looking like he regretted his decision to reunite with Lopez, as he famously looked miserable in virtually all of the paparazzi photos and videos he took alongside her. Affleck, however, said that his oft-frustrated face is because he doesn’t like attention.
While Affleck and Lopez may now be divorced, their professional relationship remains in tact as Lopez’s next movie — the biographical drama about one-legged wrestler Anthony Robles — was produced by Affleck’s production company and will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
