Jennifer Lopez has officially filed for divorce from Ben Affleck.
According to TMZ, Lopez filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, August 20th — two years to the date of their wedding ceremony. Lopez listed April 26th, 2024 as the date of their separation.
TMZ reports that Lopez and Affleck did not have a prenuptial agreement. The couple has reportedly been negotiating a settlement for several months but has yet to come to terms.
Lopez and Affleck initially had a highly-publicized romance from 2002 to 2004 and were, at one point, engaged. They rekindled their relationship 17 years later and went on to marry in 2022. The couple subsequently appeared in commercials together, and Affleck starred in Lopez’s recent film, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story.
However, the couple reportedly had a falling out ahead of Lopez’s “This Is Me… Now The Tour,” which was subsequently canceled. They then put their house on the market in early June, prompting more speculation of a separation.
Neither Lopez nor Affleck has publicly addressed their split as of publication.
This marks Lopez’s fourth divorce. She was previously married to Cuban waiter Ojani Noa, dancer/choreographer Cris Judd, and singer Marc Anthony, with whom she shares two children
Affleck was previously married to actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children.
