Jennifer Lopez has canceled her summer tour less than a month before it was set to get underway.
The singer/actress announced the tour’s cancelation on her website. “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” she wrote. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”
“I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again,” Lopez added. “I love you all so much. Until next time…”
Lopez’s “This Is Me… Now The Tour” was to mark her return to the road after five years in support of her comeback album, This Is Me… Now. However, in April, amid reports of sluggish ticket sales, Lopez quietly canceled several shows and retooled the remaining dates as a greatest hits celebration. Now, those shows have been canceled as well.
TMZ reports that the decision to scrap the remainder of Lopez’s tour was not necessarily due to weak ticket sales, but rather due to her wanting to take “time off to be with her children, family and close friends” amid reports of marital strife with husband Ben Affleck.
Those who purchased tickets to Lopez’s “This Is Me… Now The Tour” through Ticketmaster will receive an automatic refund in the comings days.
