Jennifer Lopez has another PR disaster on her hands.
Last week, JLo made headlines when she was forced to cancel tour dates due to dwindling ticket sales.
Now we’re finding out that she might have been the lead vocals during the chorus of her hit song, “Jenny From The Block.”
On Thursday, a singer named Natasha Ramos says she was hired to sing background vocals on “Jenny From The Block” but suspects that JLo’s vocals were turned down and what we hear in the famous chorus line is actually’ Ramos’ voice.
“I don’t know what year 2001, 2002, I was able to sing a reference track for Jenny From The Black for Jennifer…so I recorded it for her she loved it…they said they wanted to keep me on there and sing background vocals for some of the songs on the album..So she did go into the studio and recorded some background vocals over mine. I am convinced they turned her background vocals all the way down because it sounds almost identical to the reference track…the laugh you hear on the song is my laugh…the person saying “from the Bronx”, that’s my voice”
Ramos said she sang background vocals on several JLo songs but only had issues with Jenny From The Block because she felt they turned JLo’s voice down on the track and kept her adlibs throughout.
JLo’s former backup singer opens up about the production of “Jenny From The Block”:
“They turned her [JLos] vocals like all the way down”

Ramos sang the chorus of “Jenny From The Block” in a video on her TikTok page, and fans are convinced she’s telling the truth.
Ramos is angry that she only got paid $3,500 for recording multiple songs on JLo’s album and never got the recognition or money for being the voice of “Jenny From The Block,” but she doesn’t blame JLo; she believes the record label is at fault.
She’s a busy, boss ass woman though. I understand she loved my voice and figured she didn’t have to do too much more for the song to sound & be great… She was working smarter, not harder 🤷🏽♀️ The label screwed me – is the point of it all. That’s it

Just because I think JLo is great doesn’t mean I can’t ALSO feel duped by the label when it came to me receiving proper compensation for the work I did, the excessive vocals of mine kept i.e. my laugh, etc, and the continued use of my vocals during her performances.
