Jennifer Garner is an extremely successful actress. She is currently starring as Elektra in the movie Deadpool & Wolverine. Garner shared her training process for the role on Instagram. She captioned the post, “As this impossible dream became reality, my bestie and OG stunt double @shaunaduggins and I amped up our training, led by @bethjnicely at @thelimitfit: 1x/day, plus whatever homework she assigned for a second workout. Boxing 3x/ week with @flvcothefuture from @matchroomxchurchillgym. And lots and lots of @onepeloton‘s @becsgentry. 💃🏻🏋🏻♀️🥊🏃🏻♀️🏊🏻♀️ We had #SuperHeroSummer over here, twirling sais in the backyard and laughing at our sore old bodies.” How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Jennifer Garner stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
In her Instagram video, Garner is seen doing planks on a bosu ball. Allina Health states that planks are a great workout. “The plank is a simple, effective bodyweight exercise that strengthens your core, as well as muscles in your upper and lower body. Core muscles, which include your back and abdomen, help you maintain posture and balance as you stand, sit and move throughout the day.”
Garner is also seen doing box jumps in her Instagram video. Joho Fitness states that box jumps are a great workout. “In box jump training you work all of your leg muscles and strengthen your core using your own body weight. Box jumps boost your muscular endurance and muscular strength, while also getting some cardiovascular work involved.”
Garner is also seen using a trampoline to workout in her Instagram video. The Cleveland Clinic reports that using a trampoline has a lot of benefits. “Rebounding (the act of jumping on a rebounder) is a full-body workout that impacts — you guessed it — your entire body. Unlike targeted training, jumping requires the use of multiple muscles. All of that up-and-down works everything from your abs and glutes to your leg and back muscles, building a strong core and beyond.”
Garner is seen doing laps in a pool in her Instagram video. The Mayo Clinic reports that swimming has a lot of benefits. “Swimming is often touted as a great workout for all ages, offering benefits not only for the body, but also for the mind. As a form of exercise, swimming keeps your heart rate up and builds muscle strength. It also can be a great form of stress relief.”
Garner is all about embracing her natural looks. “I just want to look like myself,” she told WhoWhatWear. “I can’t say that I’m particularly gutsy with my beauty choices either in what I wear—clearly [laughs]—or in makeup and hair. I mean, I did chop all my hair off. In that way, I just wanted something fresh and different, and that felt really, really good. But for the most part, I want to look like the best version of me that I can. So I’d rather take care of my skin and give my hair every bit of advantage it can. Really, for everything, it’s just about moisture. That’s true of your hair. It’s true of your skin. It’s really just how much moisture can you pack in and repair the cells you have.”
