Jay-Z has filed some unusual new allegations against his assault accuser and her lawyer, Tony Buzbee, making claims about their use of TikTok and Wikipedia. The lawsuit that was filed against him, claiming he assaulted his accuser when she was 13-years-old has been dropped, but now the rapper wants to sue for defamation.
In a new amended complaint, Jay-Z claims he suffered over $200 million in damages because of the since-dropped lawsuit. He claims it cost him $20 million in sports and entertainment deals, a $55 million personal credit line, and a $115 million loan.
Jay-Z also cites a TikTok video his accuser allegedly posted where she lip-synced, “You couldn’t pay me a million dollars to get an apology video out of me, I stand on what I said, f— you.” He claims the video “continues to display a shocking and reckless disregard for the truth that is both intentional and malicious.”
Not only that, Jay-Z claims that attorney Tony Buzbee secretly made edits to Wikipedia in an effort to damage the rapper’s reputation.
“In violation of Wikipedia’s rules, Buzbee directed his employees to edit Wikipedia pages to enhance Buzbee’s image and damage Mr. Carter’s and Roc Nation’s reputations,” Jay-Z claims in the amended complaint, according to Billboard. “Users with an IP address directly linked to the Buzbee Firm made over 100 positive edits to Buzbee’s Wikipedia page.”
In response to the filing, Buzbee told Billboard, “Most of the pleading is nonsensical. All of it is meritless.”
Jay-Z’s amendment also added a new name to the complaint: attorney Antigone Curis, co-counsel in the since-dropped lawsuit against him.
“It is clear that Curis joined the conspiracy to extort Mr. Carter, which was hatched in Alabama, and quickly became an integral part of the scheme by using her admission to the [Southern District of New York], weaponizing the civil justice system,” the amendment reads, adding, “Buzbee, Doe, and their co-conspirators must answer for all of this.”
Jay-Z had previously accused Buzbee of trying to blackmail him. In return, Buzbee claimed Jay-Z and his team had been harassing him and his client.
