The Reason Behind Momoa’s Iconic Hair Makeover

The “Dune” actor’s dramatic haircut came as a shock to many, as he is known for having long hair. However, he has chosen to embrace new beginnings.

Taking to Instagram to post a video of himself getting his hair shaved, the “See” star explained the reason for the haircut while raising awareness of the dangers of environmental pollution.

In the video, Momoa showed off part of his hair that had already been cut off before addressing the cons of using plastic materials. He urged, “plastic bottles, plastic forks go into our ocean and land. Please try to eliminate the use of single-use plastics. I’m here in Hawaii right now, and seeing some things in our ocean it’s just so sad.”

In addition to the video, he wrote, “here’s to new beginnings let’s spread the aloha. Be better at protecting our land and oceans. We need to cut single use of plastics out of our lives and out of our sea”.

The ‘Frontier’ Actor’s Tattoos And Their Various Symbolism

Momoa’s recent head tattoo is a testament to how much the actor loves getting them. The Hawaiian hottie is the definition of a tattooed god. Cosmopolitan gave an insight into the different meanings of the actor’s tattoos.

The 43-year-old has the signatures of his children, Lola and Wolf, drawn on his chest. This tattoo is written in red ink and directly placed above his heart. It symbolizes the love he has for his children.

The “Braven” actor has another one scribbled on his middle finger. It’s the name of his late best friend. He got this tattoo to honor him. Momoa has another traditional Hawaiian tattoo on his left arm that represents his family’s aumakua (which is part of Hawaiian mythology). It is a shark (manō), represented by the triangle pattern on his arm.

In addition, the Hollywood throb has his Instagram handle tattooed on him. Explaining the meaning behind the name of this tattoo called “pride of gypsies,” he wrote on his company’s website, “pride {prid} – a group of lions forming a collective; gypsy {jip-see} – a nomadic or free-spirited person.”

Last but not least, the actor got another one on the back of his elbow while filming “Game Of Thrones.” The writing of this tattoo reads in French, “être toujours ivre,” which generally means “to always be drunk.” Interestingly, his stepdaughter Zoë Kravitz has the same tattoo.
