PERRY Farrell has broken his silecne after an on-stage brawl with Dave Navarro saw the Jane’s Addiction tour cancelled.
In shock scenes from last week, Farrell was seen squaring up to Navarro and screamed at him while crew ran to break up the barney.
A statement from Navarro said: “Due to a continuing pattern of behaviour and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour.
Now Farrell has spoken out – apologising to his bandmante and to fans for the outburst.
He told Variety: “This weekend has been incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologise to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show.
“Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”
News of the on-stage incident broke out between Jane’s Addiction singer Farrell and Red Hot Chilli Pepper’s legend Navarro last Friday.
Farrell, 65, was caught on camera as he lost his cool while playing Ocean Days, before squaring up to 57-year-old Navarro.
He was captured shouting and screaming into his mic on stage before appearing to yell ‘F***you’ and barging into Navarro.
Farrell could then be seen squaring up to his band mate, as Navarro placed his hand on his chest to try and hold him back.
As Farrell shouted in his face, he lifted an arm and whacked Navarro’s hand away, causing him to stumble backwards.
Farrell’s wife Etty Lau previously shared the “real reason” for her husband’s on-stage behaviour.
Posting on Instagram, she said: “Perry’s frustration had been mounting, night after night, he felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band.
“Perry had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night.
“But when the audience in the first row, started complaining up to Perry cussing at him that the band was planning too loud and that they couldn’t hear him, Perry lost it.”
