If you’re a child of the 1980s or 1990s, then there are quite a few shows that are ingrained in your brain. Who can forget a sick day at home watching The Price is Right with Bob Barker or The Young & The Restless. Victor Newman practically raised us! Or maybe the adults in your life had you hooked on dramas like In the Heat of the Night or Murder, She Wrote. The latter was certainly a fave among grandmas who watched faithfully to see what Jessica Fletcher would be up to. I certainly admired her as a kid who wanted to be a writer and loved mysteries. Now, a Murder, She Wrote reboot movie is in the works and Jamie Lee Curtis confirmed that she will star in it.
Curtis dropped the news to Entertainment Tonight during a red carpet interview for Freakier Friday. There were rumblings that she would possibly star in this reboot late last year, and now we have confirmation straight from the source. “We’re a minute away. But very excited. Very excited,” Curtis said. “But I’m tamping down my enthusiasm until we start shooting. I have a couple other things to hustle and then I’ll get to enjoy that work.”
Jamie Lee Curtis will take on the role of Jessica Fletcher (we assume the name won’t change) in the Murder, She Wrote film, a character who was played by the very iconic Angela Lansbury in the original CBS series.
Other details aren’t available yet but will surely start to come now that this news is in the ether. Curtis certainly has the charisma to give us a great sleuthing adventure.
