Superstar actor Jamie Foxx has had a wild couple of years, and things only proceeded to get even more wild this weekend. Foxx, who appears back to full health after a scare that put him into a coma, required stitches after being hit in the mouth by flying glass at a birthday celebration on Friday.
Foxx was celebrating his 57th birthday at a restaurant in Beverley Hills when an altercation began. TMZ reports that somebody threw a glass in Foxx’s direction and struck him in the face, opening up a cut.

“A witness to the incident tells TMZ customers at another table were being rude and vulgar to Jamie, and he asked them to stop since his family was present,” the site reports. “Which is when someone at that table allegedly threw the glass that hit him in the face.”
The glass hit him in the mouth, leading to Foxx requiring stitches and, obviously, ending the birthday dinner. Foxx’s representation told TMZ that law enforcement was called to the scene and that they are not handling an investigation.
Two years ago, Foxx suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke. The stroke ultimately resulted in him going into a coma for nearly a month.
“I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light. It was hot in that tunnel,” Foxx said of the incident. “S—t, am I going to the wrong place in this motherf—er? Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the Devil.”
Obviously, compared to that, this latest incident isn’t all that big a deal. But it’s hard to imagine this is what Foxx had in mind when he decided to go out and celebrate his birthday among family.
